For Leaders

bSUMMIT is only possible because of a large team of amazing adults who act as Leader Mentors or assist as part of the Support Team.

Leader Mentors

Leader Mentors facilitate, support and guide their allocated Patrol across their personal development journey on bSUMMIT. They work closely with selected Youth Mentors to support each Scout to participate in and recognise their development.

This includes...

fostering an inclusive environment within the Patrol
motivating Scouts to achieve their best
sharing tools and techniques
supporting the Patrol to reach common goals through Plan>Do>Review>
being the eyes and ears to monitor the safety and wellbeing of members of the Patrol

It is generally expected that if Scouts from a Group are attending bSUMMIT, an Adult Leader from that Group would also attend as a Leader Mentor. Scouts will only be able to make maximum use of what they have learnt if their Leaders know and understand. It's a fantastic adventure and a rewarding experience!

Support Team

The Support Team looks after things like logistics, first aid and, most importantly, catering. They keep everyone on the Course fed and watered so that Scouts can focus on the program.

It's a well-oiled team and lots of fun to be part of. Leaders, Adult Helpers, Rovers, and Fellowship members can all be part of the Support Team.

Youth Mentor Retreat Leaders

The Youth Mentor Retreat is a fun weekend away for the Youth Mentors to prepare for bSUMMIT, practice their mentoring skills and create a strong team identity. It is a one-night camp at Cresco Scout Park in Warrandyte.

Activities on the Retreat are planned and facilitated by the Youth Mentor Coordinators (Venturers). A couple of Leaders are needed to provide support and supervision over the weekend.

The Youth Mentor Retreat for bSUMMIT March 2024 will be on the weekend of Saturday, 2 - Sunday, 3 March. Please email Nick Molnar if you can assist.
